After just a few short months of harassing, shaming, and otherwise making her life miserable, Vice president Kamala Harris has decided to finally take that relaxing trip to the Southern Border that so many have requested she take. Why you might ask? Well, because the future of the nation might depend upon it, of course.
President Joe Biden put his vice president in charge of the border, naming her the “border czar” months ago, at which point Harris announced she would be trying to get at the root causes of illegal immigration. Apparently, we all learned something from former President Donald Trump’s s*** hole comment, and saying that people are coming here “because other places suck” just isn’t the kind of PR Kamala wanted for her team.
What she might not have anticipated, however, was the number of distrust Americans would have with a woman who said she would “take care of” something, but refused to actually take the steps everyone knows need to be taken to take care of it. To that end, Americans, and yes, even Guatamalians, have called the vice president out, time and again, but she stood her ground.
That ground got very shakey just days ago, however, when the former president, the one she’s constantly compared to because of his history and firm progress on the border, said that if the administration wouldn’t visit the border, he would do it for them.
And thus, former President Donald Trump announced that he would be visiting the southern border with Texas Gov. Gregg Abbott and that he would be sorting out what measures needed to be taken.
It was only then that Harris announced, just days after Trump, that she too would be visiting the southern border, just a day or two before Trump’s planned trip.
“Harris’ trip comes just days before former President Donald Trump is set to visit the border,” Politico noted. “Trump will be joined on that trip by Texas GOP Gov. Greg Abbott and a group of House Republicans.”
Politico reports that Harris “will make a stop in El Paso, Texas on Friday, according to sources familiar with the trip. She is expected to be accompanied by Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.”
The thumbscrews were twisted deeply and well, because Harris has been standing her ground, saying that traveling to the Central American countries where the migrants are coming from would be enough to deal with the problem.
She said that she would be able to address hunger and violence and keep people from flocking to the land of plenty, that being able to tell them just how to run their countries so that they too can have food stamps, medicare for all, and a geriatric president that always follows orders should have done the trick.
Unfortunately for the Biden administration, Harris tried all of that, and it didn’t go quite as well as she had hoped. In fact, even the people of Guatemala knew that she not only shouldn’t have been there, but she also shouldn’t have been in the White House at all, and they told her as much.
And so, it was with a heavy heart and frustration at a lack of trust in her lies (like the one on NBC where she claimed to have already been to the border) that the vice president is forced to hop a plane and head to a place that she had rebelliously put her foot down and claimed she didn’t need to go, just so she could beat the former president there.
Because let’s be honest, Democrats have a tough enough time arguing with Trump whenever they can all claim the same information, just imagine the frustration he was able to say that he had seen things they hadn’t.
