Teacher Who Rejected American Flag Gets a Patriotic Visit from the Community

In recent months and weeks, we have heard a lot about teachers and schools pushing things on our kids that we may or may not agree with. While the most talked-about issue is undoubtedly about wearing facial masks, another massive problem right now is that some schools or teachers believe it’s suddenly ok to begin indoctrinating their pupils and teaching them not just about facts but also about what and how they should think as Americans.

Such was the case with one CA teacher recently.

Last week, it became known that leftist teacher Kristin Pitzen had some “uncomfortable” feelings about the US flag, which she posted to her social media accounts. Due to those feelings, she had the flag removed from her high school classroom at Back Bay High School in Orange County, California.

However, this caused a problem with at least one student who remarked to her one day that “it’s kind of weird that we just stand and we say (the pledge of allegiance) to nothing.”

According to her video obtained by the Los Angeles Times, she told the student that she would resolve the issue and find the flag she had removed. Although, in the video, she laughed and suggested that she never had any real intention of doing so.

“In the meantime, I tell this kid, ‘We do have a flag in the class that you can pledge your allegiance to.”

The kid looked around and, upon seeing the multicolored rainbow flag celebrating LBGT pride, he asked, “Oh, that one?”

Naturally, Pitzen answered in the affirmative.

That’s right. This woman, an American citizen who is supposed to be leading and guiding the next generation into a successful future, just told her entire class that they no longer needed to pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States or our country, but instead to something that represents gay pride.

Libs of Tik Tok posted the video to their Twitter account on Friday, which went viral and sent Pitzen into full panic mode. She immediately wiped her social media accounts of all similar posts and videos.

But the damage was already done.

By Saturday morning, news of Pitzen’s anti-American teachings had made it to the Newport-Mesa Unified School District office, who vowed they would immediately begin “investigating and addressing it.”

They wrote on their own Twitter account, “A personal post by a teacher about the American flag is causing alarm/concern. Respecting our flag is a value we instill in students and is an expectation of our staff. We take this matter with extreme seriousness and are investigating and addressing it.”

And by no later than Monday, Pitzen had been officially removed from the classroom. School district officials didn’t clarify whether she had been fired or simply on some sort of suspension. But in either case, she “is no longer in the classroom.”

Community members immediately showed their support of the school for such a move, as well as their patriotism to the Old Glory. Within hours, the area right around the school was decorated with hundreds of small American flags stuck into the ground, as well as a few small rainbow flags too.

Additionally, a small crowd of community members gathered near the school grounds to wave a massive American flag as cars passed by and honked their horns in appreciation.

The message was clear: the American flag shall be honored and respected above all else.

As one mother and former alumna of the school district, Stephanie Cox, explained, there’s nothing wrong with showing your pride or support of the LBGT community. However, that pride should never be put above that of our country and our national flag.

“I’m in full support of the Pride community, but I don’t compare the Pride flag to the American flag – they’re apples and oranges. Have the Pride flag, but we’re not saying the Pledge of Allegiance to it. That’s for the flag of the United States of America.”

I couldn’t have said it better myself.

And now Pitzen and her friends know it too.
