As COVID-19 has ripped through the United States, many Americans have had to deal with not only illness among family and friends, a depressed economy, political unrest, but also, even if they’re not sick themselves, they have had the frustration of feeling like they’re waiting for the guillotine to fall.

In addition to the terrible cases of COVID that some unfortunate souls have suffered, there is the political element that has weaseled its way into healthcare in the form of vaccine mandates, political medical officers offering advice, drug companies discouraging cheap treatments, and requiring continued expensive treatments. There’s also suspicious and somewhat conflicting or outright contradictory information between professionals or even the same person at different times.

One of the lesser-known treatments is one that the government is heavily involved in and seems to be incredibly effective is the injection of antibodies into an individual that is early in their symptomatic journey with COVID-19. The antibodies have been known to decrease the severity of the symptoms, shorten the time that the individual is sick, and give an overall less-threatening experience for those who have contracted the illness.

Those who are in the most endangered category have awaited that scary diagnosis since early 2020, waiting to hear if they will get the virus or if they’ll be forced to get a treatment they don’t want to get in order to take part in the economy and social events. In the case of Conservative radio host Dennis Prager, he chose to take matters into his own hands and attempt to keep his options open by intentionally contracting COVID-19 so that he could take his treatment of choice in the form of monoclonal antibodies and “achieve natural immunity.”

Prager said that he was choosing to go ahead and expose himself to the virus so that he would have immunity without having to get vaccinated against the virus:

“[I] engaged strangers constantly hugging them, taking photos with them, knowing that I was making myself very susceptible to getting Covid which is indeed, as bizarre as it sounded, what I wanted in the hope that I would achieve natural immunity and be taken care of by therapeutics … That is exactly what has happened,” he added.

The conservative icon said that he had received Regeneron monoclonal antibodies and was taking hydroxychloroquine as he had been since the beginning of the pandemic. This is in addition to zinc and a Z-Pak -azithromycin – and ivermectin, and said that “I have done what a person should do if one is not going to get vaccinated.”

From the beginning of the pandemic, Prager has been a proponent of natural immunity, despite the CDC constantly advising the public that those who contract COVID-19 naturally are more likely to be reinfected than those who are vaccinated artificially with one of the shots produced by one of the major pharmaceutical companies.

“These data further indicate that COVID-19 vaccines offer better protection than natural immunity alone and that vaccines, even after prior infection, help prevent reinfections,” the agency added … If you have had COVID-19 before, please still get vaccinated.”

It is as yet unclear how, if an immunity to a virus is possible, there could be better or worse immunity, but the CDC is hoping Americans will take their advice seriously and get the shot, whether they’ve had the virus or not.

As for Prager, he, in a roundabout way, took his health into his own hands. He got something he believed would allow him to take control of his own health. He took advantage of the treatment he believed was the most effective and would give him the best chance. Thankfully, his treatment appears to be working and it will hopefully serve to help Americans champion their own health with whatever decisions they can best live with.
