Harris’ Immigration ‘Efforts’ Face the Music – And It’s Not Pretty

Oh, Kamala, always looking for ways to dodge responsibility! As Biden’s border crisis exploded mere months into his presidency, he handed the mess over to his vice president. And what did Kamala Harris do? She quickly distanced herself, making it clear that she wasn’t in charge of managing the southern border. Nice try, Kamala, but Republicans haven’t forgotten.

Fast forward three years, and Harris is running for the White House with a border crisis shadowing her campaign. Former President Donald Trump, never one to mince words, accused Harris of having dangerously extreme immigration policies. He claimed she was appointed as Biden’s “border czar,” even though the White House never officially gave her that title.

But let’s be honest: The situation at the border has been a disaster under Biden, and it’s now Harris’ problem, too. The administration’s record-breaking border crossings have forced the White House to take drastic measures to curb asylum claims. Yet, Harris seems to be running away from the issue rather than addressing it head-on.

Harris didn’t mention border security at her first 2024 campaign rally. It’s almost as if she hopes the problem will disappear. Instead, she and Biden have blamed Republicans for blocking bipartisan immigration deals. Classic deflection, but the American people aren’t buying it.

House Republicans are making sure to highlight Harris’ failure at the border. They’re focusing on what they see as her disastrous policies, as shown in a memo obtained by CNN. Kevin Munoz, a spokesperson for Harris’ campaign, fired back, calling Trump’s policies “xenophobic” and blaming him for the chaos at the border. But finger-pointing isn’t a solution, Kamala.

Back in March 2021, during a surge of unaccompanied minors at the border, Biden tasked Harris with handling diplomatic efforts in Central America. The goal was to address the root causes of migration. While Harris focused on long-term fixes, the Department of Homeland Security was supposed to manage border security. Yet, the crisis only deepened, and Republicans were quick to label Harris as the “border czar.”

The vice president’s approach included private-sector investments in Central America aimed at creating jobs and reducing the need for migration. Harris formed the Partnership for Central America, which collaborated with companies to invest over $5 billion in the region. It sounds impressive, but experts question the long-term impact of these investments.

Harris’ team claims success in reducing migration from Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador. However, the problem is not solved, and the border remains a political hot potato.

Despite the Biden administration’s efforts, the crisis at the border continues to be a major issue for voters. Harris’s lack of concrete results and reluctance to address the problem head-on will likely haunt her campaign. Republicans, led by Trump, will ensure that Harris’ failures at the border remain front and center.

Ultimately, Kamala Harris’ attempts to deflect responsibility and focus on long-term solutions may not be enough to convince voters. The border crisis is a significant issue, and her handling of it will undoubtedly be a central point of attack as she campaigns for the presidency. It’s time for some accountability, Kamala.
