Trump’s Clever Move Exposes Democrats’ Most Embarrassing Failure

Trump’s focus on crime across America comes at the right time. It’s epidemic in many blue cities. Something must be done about it.

His crackdown in Washington proves dramatic crime reductions are possible. Cities used to lawlessness and violence can change. But only with political courage.

Chicago is next. Another city plagued by non-stop violent crime. Trump’s focus has forced local leaders to defend lax policies. They deny rampant crime reality. Claims ring hollow to terrorized residents.

Washington’s crime crackdown started August 7th. Arrests are up. Homicides are down nearly 60%. Violent crime decreased by 17%.

In one two-week stretch, there wasn’t one homicide. That’s sadly remarkable.

Despite impressive decline, more effort is needed. There have been 106 homicides this year. Plus 984 reported robberies. And 3,157 car thefts.

Those numbers are unacceptable in any city. Especially the nation’s capital.

Lax local laws passed by D.C. City Council contribute to violence. Local judges give criminals passes daily. Congress is considering proposals to fix D.C.’s criminal justice system permanently.

Trump owns property in Chicago. He’s familiar with chronic crime carnage. Numbers speak for themselves. Despite what Gov. JB Pritzker declares. Despite what Mayor Brandon Johnson claims.

Between 2003 and 2010, 3,481 Americans died in Iraq. That’s 435 per year average. In Afghanistan, 1,833 Americans died between 2001 and 2014. Average of 141 per year.

In Chicago, 5,220 homicides occurred between 2017 and 2024. That’s 652 per year average. Chicago is a war zone.

Like most big blue cities, stark crime differences exist. Between richest and poorest parts of town. White liberal elites live in safest areas. They’re oblivious to constant violent crime drumbeat.

District 3 had 80.68 homicides per 100,000 residents. That includes Hyde Park and Washington Park. District 6 had 73.43 per 100,000. That covers Englewood, Roseland, Woodlawn.

District 11 had 72.86 per 100,000 residents. Includes Humbolt Park and West Garfield Park.

Compare those killing fields to Jefferson Park. Only 1.97 homicides per 100,000. Lincoln Square had 2.29. Uptown had 3.27.

Those areas house doctors, lawyers, venture capitalists. Other professionals live there too. Liberal elites complain loudest when Trump increases federal enforcement. They oppose assistance to state and local officials.

The first George Soros-backed prosecutor was in Chicago. Kim Foxx rose from obscurity in 2017. Almost $700,000 of Soros-connected support got her elected.

Foxx unleashed pro-criminal policies on the city. Anti-victim and anti-business policies followed. Violent crime increased dramatically.

Six years before Foxx, homicides averaged 510 per year. That covered 2011-2016. Three years before her election, 4,460 rapes were reported. Average of 1,486 per year.

During Foxx’s tenure, 10,789 rapes were reported. That’s 1,804 per year average. From 2017-2022.

Two weeks into the job, Foxx made an announcement. She raised the bar for prosecuting felony shoplifting. From $300 per incident to $1,000. Illinois law was clear though. Felony shoplifting starts at $300.

When she announced this, 101 people sat in Cook County Jail. All on felony retail theft charges. Ali Abid called it “a really positive step.” Abid works at Chicago Appleseed Fund for Justice.

Abid’s boss, Malcolm Rich, was on Foxx’s transition team. So was then-Sen. Kamala Harris.

Rob Karr disagreed completely. He’s president of Illinois Retail Merchants Association. Karr was “extraordinarily shocked and disappointed.”

“This sends a message that retail theft is victimless and not serious. This is tantamount to declaring open season on retail stores.”

By 2019, Karr was proved right. Three years into Foxx’s social experiment. Retail theft reports skyrocketed across the city.

In ritzy Rush Street shopping district, incidents more than doubled. On State Street, retail theft cases jumped 32%.

Trump’s use of the bully pulpit highlights high crime rates. In Chicago and other blue cities. This is welcome news.

Gone are feel-good slogans about “reimagining” reform. No more talk of “mass incarceration.” The Soros rogue prosecutor movement failed. So did “defund the police.” Cashless bail experiments failed too.

Americans of all stripes want safe neighborhoods. They deserve them. The national mood has shifted right on crime.

Trump’s approach proves results are possible. When leaders have courage to act. Blue cities can no longer hide behind failed policies. Their residents demand better. America is watching.
