Legendary actor James Woods tore into left-wing Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey after the mayor said he would not cooperate with federal immigration officials on Tuesday.

With the Department of Homeland Security turning its attention to the Twin Cities area Democrat Mayor Frey held a press conference during which he boldly announced that he would not allow his city government to lend any aid to Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers who are beginning to carpet the area for immigration enforcement actions.

Frey not only told the city’s Somali community that he is backing them over federal immigration law enforcement he even broke out into the Somali language at his presser.

Woods blasted Frey for saying he would not work with ICE. In a post to X the actor suggested that officials should throw his traitor ass in the clink then.

Frey also offered illegal migrants some advice on what to do if confronted by an ICE officer.

“You have the right to remain silent and you have the right to a lawyer. You can refuse to sign documents until that lawyer is present. You have the right to not open the door unless a warrant has been shown.”

Frey continued praising the Somali community.

“Minneapolis is proud to be home to the largest Somali community in the entire country. They benefit both the culture and the economic resilience of our city.”

The press conference was not the first time Frey started speaking in his broken version of the Somali language. Last month after winning re-election Frey delivered a portion of his victory speech in Somali.

For his part Woods has repeatedly ripped opponents of America’s immigration laws. In October for instance he ridiculed the mentally ill Democrats who participated in a nude die-in to protest ICE in Portland. And in June Woods demanded that California’s far-left Democrat Governor Gavin Newsom resign for pandering to rioters who burned down L.A. in opposition to ICE.

Frey’s refusal to cooperate with federal immigration enforcement represents open defiance of the law. Cities cannot pick and choose which federal laws they will follow based on political preferences.

His advice to illegal aliens about not opening doors and remaining silent actively obstructs justice. He is coaching people who have broken immigration laws on how to evade arrest.

The fact that Frey speaks Somali at official government events shows where his loyalties lie. He prioritizes the Somali community over American citizens and legal immigrants who followed the rules.

Minneapolis has become a hotbed of immigration fraud and criminal activity partly because local officials like Frey refuse to work with federal authorities. The city’s large Somali population includes many who entered illegally or overstayed visas.

Woods calling Frey a traitor accurately describes his actions. The mayor is betraying his oath of office by refusing to uphold federal immigration law.

Throwing Frey in jail as Woods suggests would send a message to other sanctuary city mayors that obstruction of justice has consequences. Too many local officials believe they can defy federal law with impunity.

The Trump administration has made clear that sanctuary cities will face consequences including loss of federal funding. Frey’s public defiance invites exactly that response.

His claim that Somalis benefit Minneapolis’s culture and economic resilience ignores the reality of welfare dependency and crime. The city has struggled with gang violence and fraud schemes tied to the Somali community.

Frey winning re-election despite his sanctuary policies shows how far left Minneapolis voters have become. They are willing to protect illegal aliens at the expense of public safety.

Woods’s track record of calling out immigration lawlessness demonstrates his consistency on this issue. He has no patience for officials who put illegal aliens ahead of American citizens.
