Blue City Mayors Caught Wasting Tax Dollars on Illegals

Blue city mayors took a beating at a recent House Oversight Committee hearing. Rep. Virginia Foxx, a North Carolina Republican, put them on the hot seat Wednesday, demanding answers about the insane costs their sanctuary policies heap on taxpayers. Conservatives say it’s a disgrace unveiled.

Foxx zeroed in on Chicago’s Mayor Brandon Johnson first. She asked how much the city shelled out for illegal aliens over the past four years. “Thank you for that question, Congresswoman,” Johnson started, fumbling with a tale about Texas busing since 2022. Foxx cut him off sharp.

“Just tell me a number. I don’t need a speech,” she snapped. Johnson dodged again before mumbling it’s roughly 1% of Chicago’s budget. Conservatives fume, that’s no answer—it’s a dodge from a guy hiding the real toll on his city’s wallet.

Denver’s Mayor Mike Johnston didn’t squirm like Johnson. He laid it out plain when asked. “It’s $79 million over the last two and a half years,” he said. Republicans nod, at least he’s upfront, but it’s still taxpayer money down the drain for non-citizens.

New York’s Mayor Eric Adams didn’t flinch either. He told Foxx straight up that taxpayers forked over $6.9 billion for illegal immigrants. Conservatives reel, that’s billions—proof blue cities are bleeding Americans dry to coddle lawbreakers.

Foxx didn’t hold back her disgust. “Taxpayers have been bearing the brunt of the massive wave of illegal aliens who’ve entered the United States,” she said. She blamed Biden’s open-border obsession, calling hardworking Americans “collateral damage.” Republicans agree, it’s a scandal.

She pressed Johnson further, asking if NGOs in Chicago service illegals. “We do not seek the status of any individual that is seeking service,” he replied. The other mayors echoed this line. Conservatives boil over, that’s the problem—handing out aid blind to legality.

Pat Gray of “Pat Gray Unleashed” couldn’t take it. “When they’re here illegally, they’re not residents of your city, your state, or this nation,” he raged. He’s right, conservatives say—if you sneak into Mexico, you don’t get a free ride; you get deported.

Gray kept hammering. “I don’t get it. Why are we expected to just welcome people, no matter the illegality involved?” he asked. Republicans feel the same—this isn’t charity, it’s betrayal, funded by taxes while citizens scrape by.

The hearing was a wake-up call. Foxx exposed a system where blue cities shovel cash—$6.9 billion in New York alone—to illegals. Conservatives tie it to Biden’s mess, reversed by Trump’s 89 orders in 50 days, slashing crossings to 300 daily from 10,000.

America’s patience is gone. These mayors cling to sanctuary excuses, but taxpayers foot the bill. Republicans say Trump’s 82 percent speech approval last week proves it—people want law, not handouts for invaders, and blue cities are feeling the heat.
