For decades, America’s enemies have been watching and waiting. Now, they may be seeing what they’ve hoped for: a weakened U.S. military, critically low on ammunition. After years of draining our stockpiles to support endless foreign conflicts, we’re now facing the unthinkable—a shortage of the most basic requirement for national defense: ammo.

President Trump and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth are working fast to fix it. And not a moment too soon.

The Pentagon’s own leaders have admitted it: America hasn’t expanded its munitions production since the end of World War II. And with how fast our current stockpiles are being used—thanks in part to past giveaways to Ukraine and others—we may not have enough to sustain a prolonged conflict. That’s not just a logistical issue. It’s a national security threat.

Under Trump’s leadership, the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” is reversing years of neglect. The legislation is pouring billions into restarting our defense manufacturing base, both in public and private sectors.

The results are finally showing up on the ground. A state-of-the-art, fully automated 155mm artillery shell plant just opened in Texas. A new LAP (Load, Assemble, Pack) facility in Arkansas. A major expansion at Crane Army Ammunition Activity in Indiana, which will now double its output thanks to upgraded infrastructure. These aren’t headlines—they’re lifelines.

In Virginia, the historic Radford plant, the only U.S. facility producing critical propellants, is being modernized to meet 21st-century demands. Without this, our forces would be left fighting a modern war with 80-year-old infrastructure.

The One Big Beautiful Bill includes $25.3 billion for munitions, missiles, counter-drone tech, and supply chain security. It also funds three new strategic reserve programs, putting our country on track to stockpile the kind of firepower that wins wars—and keeps enemies in check.

This is more than policy—it’s survival.

Without enough ammunition, our elite training, advanced tech, and brave warfighters mean nothing. As the saying goes, “you can’t win a gunfight with an empty magazine.” Trump and Hegseth understand that. Their strategy is simple: fix it fast and fix it right.

The Biden years left our shelves dangerously bare. The “peace dividend” fantasy is over. This is a return to reality—and to Reagan-style peace through strength.

And if our enemies are paying attention, they’ll see what’s coming: an America that’s armed to the teeth, ready to defend itself, and led by a commander-in-chief who doesn’t wait for permission to put America first.

If this momentum holds, we won’t be caught unprepared again.

But the clock is ticking.
