We all know that crime has skyrocketed in recent years, especially in leftist-run cities. Unfortunately, even those who refuse to see the problem are now paying the price.

Introducing Josh Kruger, a 39-year-old Philadelphia journalist.

While his city has not so slowly become a haven for criminals of all kinds, Kruger’s leftist beliefs have led him to downplay the reality.

Take a July post made to his X account, for instance.

“Look, it’s that lawless land of liberals in Philly where shootings are… dropping to levels not seen in years. We are dependent on national trends, for better or worse. It’s unfair to blame local cops for rising crime, inaccurate to credit with drops.”

But it seems that reality caught up with him early Monday morning when a gunman entered his home and shot Kruger seven times, according to The New York Times.

As the Philadelphia Inquirer reported, Deputy Police Commissioner Frank Vanore believes Kruger was shot at the base of his stairs in his home around 1:30 a.m. The shooter simply walked out the door, leaving Kruger to stumble outside to call for help.

No arrests have been made yet, noting that no forced entry seems to have been made.

Now, to be sure, this is a tragedy. But as several have pointed out, it may have been avoided if people like Kruger had seen reality and the dangers that leftist law policies have allowed to flourish in cities like Philly.

Here, District Attorney Larry Krasner, who was given a whopping $1.7 million in campaign donations from anti-American billionaire George Soros, has given criminals the benefit of the doubt time after time, treating jails more like a revolving door and hotel than a place to stop injustice.

Kruger has defended Krasner and his policies multiple times.

Yet, it seems those same policies are what just got Kruger killed.
