Of Course, Liz Cheney Wants to Run for President Just to Stop Trump

It doesn’t take long to look around and see that Donald Trump is America’s favorite by far to win the 2024 presidential election. And that has Never Trumpers like Liz Cheney shaking in their boots.

It also has Cheney making some rather rash and irrational statements.

If you know much about the daughter of former vice president Dick Cheney, it’s likely that she has recently turned on her own. Once an up and comer in the Republican Party and House of Representatives, she has now been booted from both.

You may remember this is pretty much due to her complete disregard for the wants and needs of her Wyoming constituents. While her home state voted almost wholly for Trump both in 2016 and 2020, she was one of a few GOP members to voice their opposition to Trump as a leader and president.

And since then, she has joined the witch hunt in attempting to forever oust him from American politics.

Her latest ploy is a consideration that maybe she should join the 2024 presidential race against Trump.

She stated as much in a recent interview with The Washington Post.

According to her, she feels that democracy both here “at home” and abroad is “at risk,” mainly because of “Donald Trump’s continued grip on the Republican Party.”

And so, her solution is to possibly join the race “to stop” him from winning.

Now, of course, there’s a major problem with her line of thinking here. Firstly, should she join, I don’t think anyone says it will do a damn thing to hurt Trump. In fact, it may actually help him.

Let’s think about it.

  • Everyone knows she’s anti-Trump; it is the reason she would supposedly run, after all. Therefore, no Trump fan would ever vote for her.
  • Because of number 1, no Democrat is going to vote for her, knowing that she won’t be taking votes away from Trump.
  • She’s already proven she won’t listen to the needs or wants of the people, so rational, America-first supporters won’t vote for her.
  • If anyone votes for her at all, it will be once Biden voters, disappointed with how things turned out in the Democratic Party but not yet willing to vote for a bonafide Republican.

Like I said, she’ll only be hurting herself and Biden.

But Cheney has admitted that she will do “whatever it takes” to ensure Trump doesn’t win.

So, either she runs in the misguided hope that she can injure Trump’s race. Or she’s said she’d be willing to vote for Biden, should it come to that.

In either case, it won’t do much of anything to hurt Trump’s chances. But good luck, Liz.
