CNN Agrees to Pay Don Lemon $24.5 Million

Remember when Don Lemon was cast out of CNN, a proven failure? Well, now it seems CNN is letting him win just one more time.

As you likely remember, Lemon was fired from the media outlet last April after a series of what you could call unfortunate events for the once-news anchor.

First, Lemon had a reputation for being a bit of a diva, both on and off-set. It seemed he thought he was better than everyone else and pretty much acted like it. Naturally, this didn’t win him very many friends or allies on the network. And it certainly didn’t put him in a good position with his co-hosts, Kaitlin Collins and Poppy Harlow.

Then, he made the unfortunate mistake of insinuating that GOP presidential nominee Nikki Haley wasn’t “in her prime, sorry.”

Shortly after this, he was told by his agent that the network was cutting him and his overpriced salary.

Now, that salary is something to note. As you know, CNN hasn’t been doing too well when it comes to ratings and, therefore, how much money they are bringing in.

In fact, even television evangelists Jim and Tammy Bakker have better rankings than CNN.

Naturally, this has caused the company to cut back a bit, and that means cutting some salaries and possibly the people attached to them, such as Lemon.

Of course, Lemon, as usual, thought he was a victim and so he sued CNN.

It was reported on Tuesday that the company and Lemon’s legal team had finally settled out of court. As part of the agreement, CNN would pay Lemon a whopping $24.5 million, the amount he would have received should he have been allowed to finish his contract with the network.

To be sure, this is likely the last thing CNN needs right now. And things aren’t looking to get much better any time soon.

It seems Lemon is taking a page from Tucker Carlson’s book and starting his own show. “The Don Lemon Show” will debut on X in a few weeks.

This is just more writing on the wall for CNN.
